The Blaine County School District in Hailey, Idaho pioneered the development
of a student educational support system that sets achievement standards and
accountability roles of students, parents, and staff. It provides teachers and administrators with a tool for
guiding instruction, measuring results, and documenting the entire process. The school district has been using this Mileposts Progam
with great success since 2005.
As the program grew and improved, a number of other
school districts expressed an interest in using this system. A consortium of seven districts
was formed in early 2009 and the Mileposts system was deployed to all of these districts
for the 2009-2010 school year with great success. We continue to expand the number of consortium
districts as stories of its success spreads across the state.
During the summer of 2010, Blaine County School District entered into a partnership with
Silverback Learning Solutions, the new parent company of Mileposts. This will allow the
program to expand at an accelerated pace, both regionally and nationally, as well as
continue to improve and enhance the software itself.
